Colleen Martin Appointed as our New Principal

Congratulations to Colleen Martin for being selected as the principal for Shoreline Middle School. Colleen has done an incredible job this year and I am quite confident that under her leadership Shoreline will continue to move forward in a positive direction.

We have also hired John Rubio as the District’s Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. John comes highly recommended from the San Francisco Unified School District where he most recently served as their Director of Technology.  Dr. Rubio was introduced to the Governing Board on May 1st and I will be introducing him to staff as time permits while he is transitioning from SFUSD.

STAR Test Season Begins Soon at Shoreline

It’s CST testing time. From May 7-24, students will be testing in language arts and math classes, and 8th grade students will also test in science and social studies.

There will be a different bell schedule the first two weeks. Classes will start with period 2 on May 7. The schedule for Mondays and Tuesdays, 5/7-8 and 5/14-15 will be different, and Wednesday-Friday will be the regular schedule.

Please have your student bring a book to read in case they finish a test early.

Please encourage your student to get to bed early, and eat a good breakfast and lunch on testing days so they can do their best on the tests.

Please try not to schedule appointments during this time as it is very difficult to interrupt classes and students will also get no score if they have to leave a test.
